Cryptography introduces students to the exciting practice of making and breaking secret codes. This course intersects the disciplines of mathematics, computer science, and engineering. Students will also learn how cryptography influences history and how it’s used in modern day conveniences like computer passwords, electronic commerce, and ATM cards. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to encrypt and decrypt messages, invent their own ciphers, and learn some mathematical concepts that are often not seen until college! Open to all grades.
