• Welcome to the Urban Scholars Initiative

As we approach our 35th anniversary, our mission remains steadfast: to provide individualized support that empowers underrepresented youth to succeed in high school, graduate from college, and become productive, self-sustaining adults.

For more than three decades, Urban Scholars has helped students overcome barriers and unlock opportunities for long-term success. We invite you to explore our programs, celebrate the achievements of our students, and see the lasting impact your support can make in transforming lives and strengthening communities.

While our programs previously operated in partnership with the City College of New York (CCNY), Urban Scholars has always been an independent organization. As of 2023, we are no longer housed at or affiliated with CCNY and have officially transitioned into a fully independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This evolution enhances our ability to serve students with greater flexibility, innovation, and impact.

Your partnership is essential to this work. Together, we can continue to expand opportunities, empower the next generation, and build a more equitable future.

Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming events and programming.
